Hurricanes to Begin Postseason at Home on May 12
New York Rangers Await in Second Round
The Carolina Hurricanes have released their schedule for the 2023-24 NHL postseason. The Hurricanes, who finished the regular season with a league-best 116 points, will open their playoff campaign at home on Friday, May 12 against an opponent to be determined.
The Hurricanes will then play Games 2 and 3 of their first-round series on the road before returning home for Game 4 on Tuesday, May 16. If necessary, Game 5 will be played in Carolina on Thursday, May 18, and Game 6 will be played on the road on Saturday, May 20.
Should the Hurricanes advance to the second round, they will face the New York Rangers. The Hurricanes lost to the Rangers in seven games in the second round of the 2022 playoffs. The Hurricanes will host Games 1 and 2 of the second round on Monday, May 22 and Wednesday, May 24.
The Hurricanes have not won the Stanley Cup since 2006. They are hoping to make a deep playoff run this year and contend for their first championship in nearly two decades.
