Blake Dunn Finally Gets His Shot at the Majors

Saugatuck native Blake Dunn is heading to the major leagues.

Dunn, a Saugatuck native, was one of eight minor league players who were called up to the majors on Monday. He is expected to make his major league debut on Tuesday.

Dunn was a four-sport standout at Saugatuck High School. In addition to batting .573 with 34 RBIs, he was also a standout basketball, football, and track and field athlete. After graduating from high school, Dunn played baseball at Western Michigan University. He was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 12th round of the 2019 MLB Draft.

Dunn has spent the past three seasons playing in the Cubs' minor league system. He has hit .283 with 25 home runs and 117 RBIs in 243 games.
