The North East Yorkshire and the Humber region has witnessed a remarkable surge in entrepreneurial activity, with over 70,000 new businesses established in 2023. According to research conducted by Professor X, the region has experienced a significant increase in start-up firms, showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit and economic potential of the area.
Yorkshire and Humber Hub for Tech Startups
Notably, the region has emerged as a hub for technology startups, with data indicating that the number of new technology companies incorporated in Yorkshire and the Humber jumped by almost a fifth (19%) in 2023. The region is home to 2521 startups, representing a significant contribution to the UK's digital economy.
Monthly Growth Rate of New Businesses
The research also reveals that Yorkshire and the Humber experienced a steady increase in new businesses throughout the year, with a 99 month-on-month increase in July. This consistent growth highlights the region's favorable business environment and the ongoing support for entrepreneurs.
